Store Name Conciderations

Below are the most important branding decisions for any online business at start-up. Before doing anything at all, you need this check-list sorted. It will pay back later:

  1. Branding

    Name, Logo, Domain Name, Email are all intertwined and must be sorted together.

    Name, domain and mail sticks while logo may change as you develop.

    Does store name match your brand and products? – Vertigo for pancakes is not really a great idea is it?

  2. Less is More

    Be creative, unique and stand out.

    Go short and be recognisable.

    Consider Symmetry and Balance.

  3. Strategy Domain Name

    a) Include intuitive wording for better SEO at the expense of originality – Silicon Valley Hairdresser, Poster Sales, Military Surplus Inc or …

    b) Trust in your idea and create a unique and original brand at the expense of intuitive SEO – Coca Cola, Apple, Inertia, Vertigo, Genesis or …

    c) Play with words and bad spelling for wow at the expense of intuitive SEO – Flickr, Netflix, Blox, Google, Syndrm Medics, WrdPrss

  4. Domain Name Dont’s

    Do not join the pop pit fall, it’s only cool for a little while, it’s not trusted and not taken serious. Again changing a brand is a massive undertaking – shop4u2cme.com and my-site-is-simply-better.com

  5. Domain Name Availability

    Is the domain name taken? Check it first and register for reservation, rights, reference, website and email@yoursite.you !

    Consider the domain registration your social security number. It’s the core of your business.

  6. UI – User Interface

    Consider length of domain name and especially email.

    Consider drops (q y p g j) and lifts (t i l f h k d b) at the beginning of each word in your url for readability – anincrediblestorenamethatishardtoread.com vs. businesshustler.com & google.com

  7. Logo

    Play with Logo Graphics – Don’t worry logo is easy to change later, but name sticks.

    Does store name match your logo? – Emphasise in layout, fonts, colour for a unique expression and mood.

    Prepare logo: white on transparent and black on transparent. It’s flexible on coloured backgrounds. (See Octopus and notice background colour, even in the eyes)

  8. Media Formats

    Choose png (simple to work with but does not scale) or svg (scales with no loss but requires know how) formats that support transparent. jpg does not!

    Choose large resolution fx. 2048px long axis – You can always scale down.

  9. Market Place Registration

    You now have Store Name, Logo, Domain Name and Email sorted.

Connected Accounts – Stripe

Registration takes you through a Store Setup Wizard. Here you connect to our account with Stripe Payment Gateway like so in English:

You may also do so from your Store Dashboard later under Settings > Payments… Stripe is a multi language platform and you may be presented to registration in your language like Danish below.

For your registration you might want to prepare:

  • Business email
  • Business Name – Assumably your Store Name
  • Optional – Jursdiction ID for your business
  • ID Documentation such as Drivers License or Passport.
  • Bank Account IBAN – Unsure what it is? Please contact your bank

Currencies & Exchange Rates

Also you should concider; payouts transfer in €….

  • If you setup Stripe to payout in your local currency, Stripe will exchange the currency and charge for the exchange.
  • Alternatively you select payout in € to your bank account, hence, your bank does the exchange into the currency for your account.
  • Is your bank account setup in € you should only be met by transfer fees. Please check with your bank.

Obviously you will select the cheapest Exchange rate you can have.

Please note, we have no access to your Stripe Connected account. It’s purpose is to facilitate payouts from our Stripe to Yours. From here you manage your own transactions to your bank account.

FYI: Signed in users have the option to save their Payment Methods. If asked by your customers, these data are saved in an embedded window with Stripe since they, as a gateway, are licensed to do so.

Do I Need to be CPH Based for Strøget Virtual?

It’s virtual remember … & It’s a big big world. We just have to start somewhere. Since we are Danish based the capital of Denmark seems like a logic initial location. Stores around the world are welcome to join Strøget Virtual.

Phase II – As vendors emerge we will look into launching other cities. Target at present is 20 national stores for a new Capital to open. Yeah smaller cities are definitely an option. Again 20 local stores and we see…

Is EU – GDPR in place?

GDPR EU is active for this site. We require acceptance or rejection of technologies involved when you land on our site. Customers and visitors have Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions and also Cookie Policy available in the footer of Strøget Virtual and East West Army.

Please note alternative GDPR policies are on the rise in fx. California etc. We will implement on request for localised compliance.

Do I Need to Add Policies for My Store?

Is Shipping Active for My Store?

We offer a per vendor shipping module, where you can specify your own algorithm based on Weight, Region or Distance. We have a shipping algorithm in place for the entire site. At times too little is charged and at times too much.

Shipping is a complex matter. Using our algorithm does not entitle you to any coverage.

How do you brand my business?

  • You get immediate exposure at Strøget Virtual that is currently under further construction
  • Strøget Virtual is a primary link in the header of this site. Quick links are added for the submenu
  • A Store Carousel is displayed on the front page. This includes the latest stores registered
  • Primary categories and business will display on front
  • Category Structure is organised based on new stores needs
  • Categories will integrate all over this site and landing pages as they are established
  • Your store and products are pinned on our interactive map. Clicking the pin displays your logo and links to you direct
  • Whether you are big or small all stores shall have even exposure, hence, no hierarchy and store specific promotion
  • Your Store is Branded on your single product pages and also under your products in product overview. This branding links to your store.

Prohibited & Restricted Business?

Rejected

Restrictions and legislation vary by country and at times regions. You may restrict sales on a per country/state shipping basis. Stripe Payment Gateway has laid out guidelines to which payments must abide. These guidelines applies under all circumstances to all trade under Strøget Virtual and can be found here.

Any breach of these instructions will exclude further sales from East West Army, unless the situation can be explained and excused under the law. Second chances don’t come often.
